Work and Family

Lets start with work. I mentioned that I was a lead VPK teacher now and I’ve been doing that since the beginning of the school year. I always wanted the 3 year old room, but after being in VPK, I think I’ve decided I’d like to continue that route. I gave some thought to going back to school for Veterinary Technician classes, and it could still be a dream at some point, but for now, I’m content with being a preschool teacher.

Along with work, I’ve gained some good friends. It’s nice to be able to talk to these ladies about certain things and know that they will be there to listen. They’ve been great, and some have been there for me through some stressful times. I love those girls!

As far as the family goes…. still plan on no other kids. Totally done! The husband and I are still married and going strong. I’m getting along great with my little sister and I’m still not a fan of my older brother. The kids have been out of school for nearly 2 weeks and of course, we are ready for them to get back to a normal school and extra-curricular activity schedule.

My dad came over Christmas break to surprise the kids and be here for Christmas. We enjoyed his company. He left yesterday, so was here for a little over a week. I hope he enjoyed his time here in the warmer weather.

I ended up doing pictures for my niece and nephew and once I was editing, I realized how much I missed photography, so I think in 2017, I’m going to try to ease back into it on the professional level. I should probably start with my own kids though being that it’s been forever since I’ve done professional photos of them!

Hah, 3 Posts!

I just looked to see what I may have blogged about in the last year.I have 3 posts for 2016, prior to this one. And one just said “Happy New Year.”Hilarious. My poor blog was so abandoned this year. Hopefully 2017 will different.

I have two individual posts coming up though. It may take awhile to post them, but in the second post, you will see why!

Stay tuned…..

Oh, I have a Blog!

Sooooo… yeah! I knew I had a blog. Don’t worry. But, I stopped blogging. It became difficult to keep up, but now, I need a place to vent, a place to say what is on my mind. I’ve been trying to keep things inside and it’s building up and I don’t want to explode, so I need some place to say what is on my mind before I actually explode.

I will slowly do this though and wont explode in a single post.

A few things have changed though. My girls are still dancing competitively. We tried Tristan in soccer again and he doesn’t like it, which showed because he wasn’t very good at it to be honest. So, we’re trying him in bowling in January.

I started the rescue, and well, now I’m closing it down, but it is a long story, and I will go into detail a bit later.

I’m still a preschool teacher, but no longer working in the baby room. I’m now a lead VPK teacher – which stands for voluntary pre-kindergarten.

That’s about it for any major changes though. Will post more details later!

About That….

So, about that blogging thing. I know, it’s been a really long time. New Years in fact! Wow. Life has been crazy busy lately and I haven’t even thought about blogging. I should probably give some sort of update.

Lets work on the Day Zero Project. Here are a few things that I have completed since January.

  • Take another CPR Class – I completed this in March.
  • Become a foster parent for a pet – I officially became a foster parent just within the past month, but I’ve done something even better. I’ve rescued 5 dogs on my own.
  • Eat at restaurant I’ve never been to – I went to Fulton’s Crabhouse while the girls were performing at Disney Springs in April.
  • Put Xander in preschool – He started preschool in January.
  • Get my CDA – I completed this in April
  • Move into our own house – We moved into our own house in mid-January.
  • Watch A & K do a dance competition together – We watched them compete together for the first time in January. They are great, and we’ve loved every competition and performance since then.

Now onto other things. I’ve formed my own animal rescue. I’ve applied for everything I’ve needed to in order to be official, and I’m just waiting to hear back from the IRS. It is called Hope Canine Rescue. Find us on Facebook! We are a foster based rescue, which means we rely on fosters in order to save the lives of animals.

Dance season is almost over. They have recital in June and then they work on intensive and start practicing in July for next dance season. Both girls will have solos in 2017.

Right now, I’m still in the Toddler Room at work. I am the lead teacher for the one year olds. Our classroom was split up. My old co-teacher was let go, and now I’m working with a fabulous girl who is the lead teacher of the two year olds. I am told that I will be a VPK assistant teacher come the Fall though. We will see how that goes.

Really, not much else is going on. Just a lot of rescuing animals, dance competitions and work.
I figured that I would give a small update though. So, that is that.

Been Awhile

Wow, it really has been awhile since I’ve posted on my blog. Things have been really busy and stressful around here lately. It’s been nearly 3 months since I have posted anything. A lot has happened since then.

First, I switched jobs. I went from an Administrative Assistant to a Preschool Teacher. I’m now a preschool teacher full time – which fits me perfectly since I’m actually going to school to get my degree in Early Childhood Education anyway. I have one class I have to take before I can get my CDA, which I’ll be taking that class this semester and will hopefully have my CDA in April. I love my new job. It keeps me busy and the kids are great.

Next, right before Thanksgiving, we were told by our landlord that she wanted to sell the house and that we had to move out. Our lease doesn’t end until 2017, but we obliged. It’s been a difficult process, but, we’ve chosen a house and we should be moving into our OWN home in mid January.

Since August, we have gotten 2 new puppies. Dallas, we adopted in August. She is a black lab/boxer mix. She has the color of the black lab, but has the head and body of a boxer. She’s beautiful. She’s a good dog though. Hyper as hell, but pretty well behaved. Cocoa is our newest pup. She was in really bad conditions. She was around large, aggressive dogs. She was in filthy living conditions and was flea infested. She was also so incredibly skinny you could see her ribs. She was petrified of us and would flinch when we went to pet her. She has since warmed up and is a much happier puppy than she was when we rescued her. I’m not sure what breed she is, but if I had to guess, I would guess Pit and Catahoula mix. She goes to the vet on Saturday though, so hopefully we will get a better idea then.

Outside of that, things are pretty typical around here. Little man starts preschool on Monday. We’ve been busy packing and getting things situated to move. It’s been a hard year for us, and we’re hoping that by moving at the beginning of the year, it will be a sign that 2016 will be a good year for us.

Breast Cancer Awareness

I’ve rejoined Scentsy! I’ve missed the company and am glad to be part of it again. One of the reasons I love the company so much is because they are always doing some sort of Awareness Product.

Right now, the breast cancer warmer is ON SALE and a portion of the sales go directly to breast cancer research! Check it out, and Order Now to show your support!
